There are few writers I have admired as much as Kurt Vonnegut. Besides being very funny, he managed to be simple and poignant while at the same time plumbing the depths of the human heart and mind. His death in 2007 at the age of 84 was one of those rare passing of a human being that I have never known that made me grieve. He was a literary giant who never tried to be one, and whose humility was only matched by his wit. Like a more taciturn Mark Twain, his often short, whimsical novels are still some of the few that I consistently reread.
Below is a link to an AV Club list of 15 memorable Vonnegut quotes. It makes me want to find my copy of Cat's Cradle so I can read it for the umpteenth time.
Check it out.
