Blogging- more than just a waste of time.

So I haven't been blogging much in recent months. Not so much for a lack of things to say, but perhaps because a lack of direction. I mean, a good blog has to have some kind of point, whether it is espousing the bummer life, a youngster's love of music, or general misanthropy. I thought initially I would write about observations from behind the coffee bar. Miscellaneous bike subjects then followed. Next thing I know, I'm writing about web browsers and going a more tech direction. Then I stuck a fork in it and said "done." More like "over-cooked."

In the time since, I've received occasional queries as to why I'm not writing (i.e. "why did you stop writing your stupid blog"). I consider these reason to renew my commitment to scavenging my brain for writing ideas. It also shows how desperate I am for your attention. Love me, dammit! I'm all alone here with nothing but a laptop, a wifi connection, and an empty goddamn french press. Pay attention or else I might do something drastic, like buying a moped or getting a face tattoo. Hell, I might even log into my MySpace account. I know- sounds like sheer desperation!

What I've learned in these months of blog inactivity is that blogging is more than just a waste of my time or your time. It is a collective waste of all our time! I know, pretty heavy shit I'm laying down here, like a labrador successfully passing a bunch of ball bearings. Blogging isn't about subject matter as much as it is about avoiding work, and if this isn't something you didn't feel in your heart to be true, you wouldn't have read this far. And is as much as I am avoiding work to write this, you are avoiding something far more important (like picking your nose) to read this tripe. And even if you are multitasking while you read (like picking your nose) or winding down from a long day, this isn't going to contribute a greater overall well-being, so just admit it. I have, and brothers and sisters, I feel rejuvenated.

So stay tuned to more meaningless banter coming from a man who has no more reason to be allocating resources to this blog than you have visiting it regularly.

And thanks for stopping buy.
