Mr. Rogers ruined my life

Wow, I've never seriously thought Mr. Rogers was evil. Maybe in a sort of ironic "what if" scenario could I see him as some kind of Machiavellian bad guy. I mean, he did have a clean-cut, well-mannered, holy-shit-there's-a-head-in-the-freezer kind of vibe about him. But let's face it, ideas like that are born out of cynicism and fear because this guy seemed too Saint-like for most people's tastes. Sets the bar too high.

But who loves fear and cynicism more than Fox News? My mind draws a blank- I don't think anyone loves fear and cynicism more. Take for example the clip below. Fox News anchors discuss a study that claims Mr. Rogers is responsible for a generation of kids growing up to be lazy adults with entitlement issues. They take it even further by apparently accepting this one study as indisputable proof that Mr. Rogers is, indeed, "evil." Wow. I love it when the female anchor, who probably causes children to cry, dogs to bark, and cats to hiss when she enters a room, states that he ruined a "crop" of children. It's as if Mr. Rogers was some kind of famine that blighted the land's bounty of delicious children. I almost don't want to post this blog because, in a way, Fox News just seems desperate for attention, willing to say anything to get it.

It's not easy to ignore, though. Enjoy...
